Yale University Connecticut Hall ~ Antique

Established in 1701 as the Collegiate School, Yale is an Ivy League institution.  Renamed Yale College in 1718 it is the 3rd oldest institution of higher education in the United States.  It became co-educational in 1969.  Boasting an enrollment over 12,000, the Bulldogs compete in NCAA Division I athletics.

Our historic rendering features the Connecticut Hall originally a student dormitory, a function it retained for 200 years. Part of the first floor became home to the Yale College Dean's Office after 1905, and the full building was converted to departmental offices in the mid-twentieth century. It is currently used by the Department of Philosophy, and its third story contains a room for meetings of the Yale Faculty of Arts & Sciences, the academic faculty of Yale College and the Graduate School. Connecticut Hall is the third-oldest of only seven surviving American colonial-era college buildings, and the second-oldest structure built for Yale College in New Haven.

Reminiscent of a fine old English engraving, our Antique scenes offer a most distinctive and professional gift of luxury.  Well suited for display in either home or office, they are a source of pride for both sender and receiver.  The paperweight is bordered in black and has a felt bottom.  Picture, mirror and wood box are all matted with an antique white mat featuring blue and gold trim.   Mirrors and pictures are ready to hang.  Boxes include quality brass fittings.  Proudly made in America.
