Established in 1636 Harvard is notably the United States’ oldest institution of higher education. An Ivy League college it became coeducational after it merged with Radcliffe College in 1977.

Centered in Harvard Yard and surrounded by Cambridge’s Harvard Square neighborhood, our historic rendering features the Johnston Gate which was completed in 1889. The scene is near and dear to our hearts as it is the very first college design done by Eglomisé in the 1960s, essentially launching us into the world of college commemorative gifts, and initially one of just 4 gifts used by the University Marshall.
